Teddi Mellencamp may be facing backlash over the way in which she brought up the rumors of Denise Richards‘ alleged affair with Brandi Glanville on The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills, but according to a new post on Instagram, she is able to “rest easy” knowing she was her true self throughout season 10.
Ahead of the August 5 episode of the Bravo reality series, Teddi took to her social media account to remind her fans and followers that they aren’t always seeing the full story before fighting back against claims of acting inappropriately by gossiping about her castmates’ alleged hookup on camera.
“I am who I am,” Teddi began. “I know many of you watch the show for entertainment and to see glimpses into our lives. No matter what, I put it all out there; I cannot choose what makes it on your television.”
While Teddi seemed to be suggesting that a key detail was left out of RHOBH, she then said that she takes accountability for the things she said, and did, on season 10.
“What’s said or done on camera becomes our reality no matter what. And so I am content knowing I live my life [100 percent] authentically on and off [RHOBH] and can rest easy despite whatever [sh*t] may come my way,” she explained.
Following her post, Teddi responded to a couple of fans who felt she should have never repeated what Brandi said about her supposed romance with Denise.
“Maybe it was brought up on camera by Brandi but…. It’s not your business?? Yes what accused of is your business, but the Brandi thing is nothing to do with you and made you look bad,” one person wrote.
“Sometimes in life we are going to look bad. That’s reality. If I made every decision on what I thought the audience would think of me versus being authentic I wouldn’t like myself very much,” Teddi replied.
Then, after a second fan said it wasn’t appropriate for Teddi to discuss the rumors at dinner with her castmates, Teddi pointed out that the information was “already out there.”
“It was brought up on camera already to me so it’s ‘already out there,'” she explained. “I wasn’t told something in private and then brought it up to the group on camera. That’s the difference.”
The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills season 10 airs Wednesdays at 9 p.m. on Bravo.
