Jax Taylor and Brittany Cartwright are over the moon after learning Brittany is pregnant with their first child.
After confirming their baby news on Instagram with a series of baby bump photos and a sonogram reel, the Vanderpump Rules couple opened up about the pregnancy while also confirming that Brittany is 11 weeks along and due in April 2021.
“I am really excited to be a father, my dad was my hero,” Jax told PEOPLE on September 21. “My dad was always there for me in every way, so I am just gonna follow his playbook, say a few prayers and hopefully God willing, everything will fall into place like it did for me.”
“I can’t wait for all the school functions, sports, dance. Whatever they want to do, I want to be a part of it. I can’t wait to just teach them things. I can’t wait to see them grow into who they are going to be and see what they will be passionate about,” he added.
According to Brittany, she and Jax were trying to conceive their first child for about five months before she became pregnant.
“I cried, I laughed, we were just so happy!! We just can’t wait to grow our family,” she explained.
Although Brittany is “already so in love” with her unborn baby, she has been facing morning sickness throughout the early moments of her pregnancy.
“I am getting loads of morning sickness and feeling pretty tired but overall, I feel great,” she said.
As fans of Pump Rules well know, Brittany is the third cast member to confirm a pregnancy in recent months. First, in June, Stassi Schroeder announced she and fiancé Beau Clark are expecting their first child, a baby girl, in January of next year. Then, earlier this month, Lala Kent revealed she too is pregnant and expecting her first child, who is also a girl, with fiancé Randall Emmett.
As for the gender of Jax and Brittany’s baby, they will be learning if they’re having a girl or a boy during a “small gender reveal” this Sunday.
“The wait is killing me!!” Brittany said. “I can’t wait to start shopping and getting the nursery ready. Boy or girl, we are just so ecstatic!! We have a name for a girl but not sure about a boy’s name yet!”
With her family in Kentucky, Brittany said having her Pump Rules castmates pregnant at the same time has been a real gift before noting that she and Lala are due just days apart.
“They have known since the day I took my pregnancy test and we all are just so excited for the play dates and our babies having built-in besties!” Brittany exclaimed. “Lala and I are due only eight days apart. We are all so happy for each other and we can’t wait for this next chapter of our lives!”
