Garcelle Beauvais opened up about the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills filming shutdown on the December 1 episode of The Real.
As Garcelle shared details about the COVID-19 diagnoses that led production to cease operations and explained when filming is expected to resume, her co-star, Kyle Richards, who confirmed she was suffering from a mystery illness last week, was not spotted on a shopping trip in Los Angeles as earlier claimed.
“We shot for Housewives on Tuesday, Tuesday night we got home and found out that a few people in our crew tested positive for COVID,” Garcelle told her Real co-hosts, as seen in a sneak peek shared by Entertainment Tonight.
Following the positive tests, Garcelle said she and the RHOBH cast went into a 14-day quarantine, during which her 13-year-old twins, Jaid and Jax, began living with her ex-husband, Mike Nilon.
“We do all the protocols. We get tested at least three times a week. We get tested before we shoot. You know, my kids get tested, I get tested, anybody who’s in my household, and you know, we did the right things, but at the same time, it just shows you that this virus — you can touch something, you can… you know, it’s not necessarily just from people,” Garcelle continued.
As for the future of RHOBH season 11, Garcelle said she hopes to get back to filming in “a few weeks.”
“Hopefully everybody will be healthy, and we’re down for a few weeks, but then we’ll be back to work,” she explained.
While Garcelle has tested negative for COVID-19 on a number of occasions and has shown no symptoms of the virus as she continues to be tested regularly, Kyle did come down with something last week ahead of the Thanksgiving holiday.
Although Kyle never revealed what she was suffering from, a report seemingly suggested she stepped out for a shopping excursion at the Beverly Glen Center on Monday. However, Reality Blurb has been informed that the photos of Kyle were taken on November 5, meaning she has been quarantining along with her co-stars.
