Shep Rose is speaking out about when he and the Southern Charm cast first learned that Madison LeCroy was “DMing” Alex “A-Rod” Rodriguez.
While appearing on the latest episode of Andy Cohen‘s SiriusXM Radio show, Shep revealed that Madison informed him and their co-stars about her relationship with the former MLB player during a group trip to Capers Island, even though he reportedly made her sign an NDA beforehand.
“We were all out at the beach and it was lovely. And on the ride home, it got kind of heated between everyone really, except for me, and she said on camera, she’s like, ‘I’m DMing with A-Rod, but we can’t talk about that or they can’t air this because I signed an NDA,’” Shep revealed on the March 15 episode of Andy Cohen Live. “And that’s the first I heard of it. And I was like, ‘Oh my God,’ my eyes almost popped out of my head.”
According to Shep, he believes it was A-Rod who reached out to Madison, not the other way around.
“From what I understand, he approached her,” Shep shared, adding that NDAs are “weird little [documents].”
“I’m not sure how effective they are and I’m not sure if I signed one in any capacity I would be talking about it very much,” he noted.
Following Madison’s big reveal, cast member Craig Conover brought up the issue at the Southern Charm reunion, telling the entire cast, and their viewers at home, that Madison had flown to Miami to sleep with an “ex-MLB player.”
“I had literally a hundred people, friends, and acquaintances, texting me like, ‘Whoa, this is crazy.’ And it is crazy,” Shep admitted. “On the one hand, hey, our show is on the cover of magazines. On the other hand, I sort of miss the early days. Maybe I’m nostalgic about the seven of us when we were just a bunch of random people from Charleston.”
“This was inconceivable back then, something like this,” he added.
Also on Monday, Madison was seen stepping out in a matching sports bra and leggings in Charleston, where she was photographed and questioned about her alleged involvement in A-Rod’s relationship troubles with fiancée Jennifer “J-Lo” Lopez.

While Madison didn’t say much, she did tell the Daily Mail‘s videographer, “I’d rather not talk about it,” as she looked at her phone and made her way to her destination.
Meanwhile, on his Instagram Stories, A-Rod confirmed he had flown to the Dominican Republic, where J-Lo is currently working on her upcoming film, Shotgun Wedding.
“Happy Monday. New Week. New Day. Onward. Upward,” he wrote in a caption of a video of the surf.
Southern Charm season eight will likely air on Bravo sometime later this year.
