Katie Maloney and Tom Schwartz Share Timeline for Having Kids After Considering Making a "Quarantine Baby" As Vanderpump Rules Stars Discuss Time Spent in Quarantine

Katie Maloney and Tom Schwartz have recently become the unofficial aunt and uncle of the babies of their Vanderpump Rules cast members, including Stassi Schroeder, Lala Kent, and Brittany Cartwright, but will they soon welcome children of their own?

During a new interview, Katie and Tom opened up about their timeline for having kids before sharing details about the moments they spent together in quarantine.

“So many friends in our lives have given birth or are about to give birth, and it’s a beautiful thing. We’re celebrating their newfound parenthood and anticipating ours sometime in the next few years,” Tom told the Bravo Insider this week.

“Few years? Probably next couple years,” Katie corrected.

According to Tom, he and Katie considered “making a quarantine baby” amid the coronavirus pandemic, but now that restrictions are starting to loosen, Katie isn’t motivated to do anything that would require her to spend the next several months inside.

“I don’t know if I want to, like, run and get pregnant right away. I think I might want to travel and experience a little bit of post-COVID life,” she shared.

So, rather than work on a baby now, she and Tom, who wed in August 2016 (only to have to remarry in July 2019 due to a clerical error), are focused on the future.

“We’d like to start a family some time in the next few years. First, we have to get our feet back on the ground, get a routine and a rhythm back and get our professional mojo flowing again,” Tom stated, giving a nod to his role as co-owner of the currently closed TomTom bar in West Hollywood, California.

Although Katie acknowledged herself as a “homebody,” she admitted her husband “gets a little cabin fever” when kept inside for too long.

“He would just go for drives. He was missing things and people and such, and I was like perfectly fine not having to see anyone’s face. He was either here or at Tom Sandoval’s house,” Katie recalled of the time they spent quarantining.

Despite his tendencies to get a bit stir-crazy, Tom said that when it came to his relationship with Katie, they actually thrived amid the pandemic.

“Not to boast here, but I feel like it was just full of love. It was really nice. It was romantic and fun and very special. We bonded on a deep level,” he gushed.

No word yet on when filming will begin on Vanderpump Rules season nine.
