Lala Kent is ready for a second child, but unfortunately for the Vanderpump Rules star, her fiancé, movie producer Randall Emmett, isn’t quite there yet.
Four months after welcoming daughter Ocean, Randall, who shares two older children with ex-wife Ambyr Childers, says that while Lala wants to give Ocean a sibling sooner rather than later, he prefers to “slow down.”
“She keeps talking about another baby,” Randall told Us Weekly on Thursday, July 15. “So I’m like, ‘Slow down!’”
Although Randall admitted that “practicing is good … and healthy,” he said he and Lala are planning to wait a year before welcoming any more children.
“We’ll take it from there,” he noted, adding that their postpartum sex life has been “good.”
“Now that the baby’s out and thriving, we have had some really good date nights and have found a way to have our [time] where everybody is out of the way,” he shared. “We’re thriving.”
In May, during her own interview with Us Weekly, Lala said Randall’s “clock [was] ticking” when it came to baby number two.
“Randall says, ‘You’re so young.’ And I’m like, ‘You’re not,’” she laughed. “[I don’t want him] to be 90 years old walking into [his] son or daughter’s high school graduation.”
“It doesn’t have to be right away because I am just so in love, and I want to enjoy [my daughter, Ocean], for as long as possible. [But] I definitely want to have another baby,” Lala continued.
According to Randall, he and Lala are able to do more now that Ocean is “sleeping through the night more.”
“She’s smiling at me [now] … and oh, my God, I don’t want to leave. She grabs my hands with little fingers. It’s, like, all happening, the personality. … And to watch Lala love Ocean the way she does, it’s really beautiful,” he gushed.
As for Lala’s recent duties with Pump Rules, Randall said she was “running on fumes” as she attempted to juggle filming with her new life as a mom, and she often brought Ocean to set with her.
“If she’s filming a scene, she’ll have me or the nannies standing off-camera,” Randall explained. “She wants to be with the baby at all times. When Ocean has gone on camera a few times, it’s been about 10 minutes, but it’s been great. She’s like her mom, a total star.”
Vanderpump Rules season nine wrapped filming this past weekend and is expected to premiere on Bravo sometime this fall.
