Steve Lodge believes Vicki Gunvalson was “looking for attention” and aiming to get back on television when she accused him of using her and cheating on her with a 36-year-old.
As the couple continues to spar through the press, Steve is sharing new details about his life in Mexico and the engagement ring the Real Housewives of Orange County alum allegedly bought for herself as a source claims he’s lying about the timeline of their breakup.
“She’s looking for attention to get back on a show, any show, and she just doesn’t understand the word no,” Steve told Hollywood Life on October 15. “I told her a long time ago I was done [with our relationship]. She kept hounding me relentlessly, but I kept saying I was done. I’ve moved on and she obviously hasn’t.”
“Her recent comments [about me cheating] aren’t true. I just want her to leave me and my family alone. They don’t want to hear it anymore,” he continued, adding that he has his own home in Puerto Vallarta, Mexico, and has never run into Vicki in the area.
Steve went on to suggest it was Vicki who “bought the ring” he proposed to her with in April 2019.
“I think I was being used as a storyline [on RHOC],” he explained. “I’m not famous nor do I want to be. I wanted my life back. She is showing her true colors now.”
According to a report from Entertainment Tonight, Vicki accused Steve of taking another woman to her condo in Mexico and flaunting her around town, even “making out in public places.” However, according to Steve, Vicki’s statements against him are “absolute lies.”
While it wasn’t until September 29 that Vicki publicly confirmed the end of their engagement, Steve said he called off their engagement in December of last year.
Meanwhile, in response to his claims, a source told ET that Steve “is creating a totally false timeline.”
“He was not living in Mexico, he was living in Vicki’s house in California,” the source said. “But at the end of the day, Vicki just needs to let this one go. Steve’s not worth it.”
