Jackie Goldschneider didn’t have much compassion for Teresa Giudice when she was hit with shocking reports regarding her now-fiance Luis Ruelas‘ past amid filming on the 12th season of The Real Housewives of New Jersey.
In a new interview, which took place just before the news of Teresa’s engagement broke, Jackie said that she felt as if karma was at work when rumors of Luis’ allegedly violent behavior were passed between the cast.
“I feel like karma kind of came right in and did a little work and I just got to sit back,” Jackie told Page Six. “Teresa clearly spread a rumor [about me and my family] and now there’s a barrage of rumors about the person that she loves.”
Although Jackie said she doesn’t “want anything bad for Teresa,” she couldn’t help but think that her co-star was “getting a taste” of her own medicine when the reports first surfaced. After all, during the 11th season of RHONJ, Teresa passed on rumors suggesting Jackie’s husband, Evan Goldschneider, was cheating.
In April, just before filming on season 12 began, it was reported that Luis’ ex-fiancée, Vanessa Reiser, filed a lawsuit against him, alleging that Luis would get enraged if she didn’t give him enough sex. Then, later that same month, it was reported that Luis was charged with simple assault for a road rage incident in 2018.
“Only Teresa knows what happens behind closed doors. So we can read everything we want, but if she’s the one spending all this time with him and she’s comfortable with him and she thinks that he’s a great guy, then you have to let everybody live their own lives,” Jackie noted. “For me, I don’t know how comfortable I would be if there were a lot of stories about someone’s past. But people change, so I don’t know. She’s the one that knows him better than anyone, so you have to trust her judgment.”
Jackie went on to say that Teresa is a “grown woman” and mentioned that nothing “dangerous” had happened within her relationship with Luis.
“They’ve been together for a while now,” she said. “So I’m just going to let her do her thing and not worry for her.”
While Teresa was certainly not happy to hear that her RHONJ castmates had been discussing Luis’ past with cameras rolling, Jackie said viewers will actually see a “less explosive Teresa” on the new episodes.
In terms of where she and Teresa stand with one another today, Jackie said she didn’t “want to give anything away.” However, she did confirm that Evan and Luis get along well.
“[Evan is] really close with all the guys,” she shared. “He actually talks to Louis all the time, too. They did play golf that one time … They just like each other. They’re both finance guys. They like each other a lot.”
