Gina Kirschenheiter appeared on Wednesday’s episode of Watch What Happens Live, where she shared a surprising update about her ex-husband, Matt Kirschenheiter.
Over two years after Matt was arrested for attacking her, the Real Housewives of Orange County cast member was asked about Matt’s relationship with her boyfriend, Travis Mullen, her drama with Heather Dubrow and Shannon Beador, and her longtime BFF Emily Simpson.
“They’re okay. It’s actually kind of weird,” Gina told host Andy Cohen of Matt and Travis, revealing that the men actually “text each other” about the kids when she’s out of town.
During the latest episode of RHOC, fans watched as Gina went to Heather with information Shannon gave her about Nicole James and her past lawsuit against Dr. Terry Dubrow.
“I waited a bit. It was like 12 hours,” Gina sarcastically noted after a fan wanted to know why she didn’t adhere to the pact she had made with Shannon just one day prior.
In addition to the information setting off Heather, who ultimately offered grace to Nicole, saying that what happened was in the past, it also led to an angry dispute between Nicole and Emily, during which Nicole targeted Emily’s intelligence.
“Her trigger button is you can’t call her stupid. She doesn’t like that. She worked very hard for her education. She’s a very smart woman and that’s not going to happen with Emily,” Gina explained, adding that it “doesn’t take much” to upset Emily.
Looking back, Gina said she doesn’t regret telling Heather what Shannon said.
“I recognize hindsight the timing wasn’t amazing. Like I really messed that dinner party up. That wasn’t great,” she admitted.
As for whether she expected Heather to be more upset with Shannon, Gina added, “I really felt like I understood. I knew she was confused about what was going on. And I was just allowing her to have that moment and I was really hoping we could source it out later.”
What did come as a surprise was Heather’s reveal about Shannon telling her not to trust her or Emily.
“I didn’t see that coming at all. I didn’t know that Shannon was doing… That was actually impressive how much she was working everybody over,” Gina said.
During another segment of WWHL, Gina was forced to choose between Heather and Emily in a game called “Which Way Do You Emi-Lean?” And when asked which marriage she admires the most, she was immediately torn before ultimately selecting Emily and husband Shane Simpson.
“Oh my God, really? I mean… Emily,” Gina answered.
Gina then revealed she believes Heather is stronger in business and fashion while Emily is the “biggest pot-stirrer” of the two.
The Real Housewives of Orange County season 16 airs Wednesdays at 9/8c on Bravo.
