Randall Emmett may have split from Vanderpump Rules star Lala Kent in October 2021, but that doesn’t mean he’s also estranged from her co-stars. In fact, the film producer had lunch with one of them just recently.
While appearing on the podcast of Shahs of Sunset cast member Golnesa “GG” Gharachedaghi, Randall revealed which two of his former Pump Rules co-stars he’s still speaking to, reacted to Katie Maloney and Tom Schwartz‘s recent split, and dished on his daughter Ocean’s first birthday celebrations.
“They’re always going to be [on] Lala’s [side]. But Jax and I have been friends forever and we’re still friends,” Randall told GG of his current status with the Pump Rules cast on the March 23 episode of Genuinely GG. “I mean, we had lunch yesterday and he’s always been a friend to me and I’ll always be a friend to him, and Tom Schwartz and I still talk. I know that he’s now going through a really tough time.”
As fans have surely heard, Katie filed for divorce on Tuesday, just one week after she and Tom confirmed the end of their relationship with their fans and followers on Instagram.
“My heart goes out to Tom and Katie,” Randall said in response to the news. “For the record, Katie is very strong. I think any time people break up, it’s a sad and tough thing. I’m sure they’re both going through a really difficult time.”
Days before Katie and Tom’s breakup, Randall and Lala celebrated the March 15 birthday of their daughter Ocean — but did so separately, with Lala hosting an over-the-top bash at Jax and Brittany Cartwright‘s house and Randall throwing a smaller gathering at his Bel Air home with his ex-wife, Ambyr Childers, and their daughters, London and Rylee.
“It was great. We had a little party at the house and my two daughters London and Rylee and Ambyr came by to bring Ocean presents and then this weekend, the girls are going to take her to Disneyland,” he shared.
Although celebrating with Lala was out of the question this year, due to the looming tension between them and swirling rumors of infidelity, Randall hopes they will one day be able to enjoy birthdays together.
“I could be at that place but I have to let Lala make that call. I’m optimistic that one day that we will be at that place and she will be open to that. But I respect however she wants this to be,” he stated.
Also during the podcast episode, Randall explained that when it comes to the fame he’s garnered due to his role on Pump Rules, he wasn’t ready for all that entailed.
“I don’t think I knew what I was signing up for… I thought you could just date somebody in that world and they leave you alone and that person is the star and then time goes on and people want to know,” he said. “I wasn’t prepared for what that world has in store.”
Specifically, Randall can’t believe “how nasty people are” to him and even his kids.
“They don’t know me. They never met me. They know nothing about my life or things I’ve been through and they just sit at a computer and fire the nastiest, most evil stuff I’ve ever seen,” he revealed.
