Melissa Gorga and her husband, Joe Gorga, are in the midst of renovating a home they purchased in June 2021 for $950,000.
Just over a year after buying the Franklin Lakes property, which is expected to have six bedrooms and three bathrooms, the Real Housewives of New Jersey star and her interior designer took to their Instagram Stories, where they shared several images of the home’s foyer and surrounding areas.
“Site visit moment,” wrote House of Style Design, along with a photo of Melissa and Joe’s double front door. “Just love how everything is turning out.”
Meanwhile, on Melissa’s page, she re-shared a couple of images posted by the interior design firm.
“This foyer is going to be a killer,” read a caption of one of the pics, which included Melissa and Joe’s unfinished staircase.
“My interior designer will blow your mind… She’s amazing,” Melissa gushed, along with an image of a tray ceiling behind her staircase.
At the time of the purchase, Melissa and Joe also took out a $500,000 loan, bringing their total investment to $1.45 million, as confirmed by the New York Post.
In July of last year, just weeks after purchasing their new home, Melissa shared footage from their first day of construction.
“Let’s get down to business! Our [first] love! Making beautiful homes,” she wrote. “This will soon be our new house! This is day one of construction! I’m gonna keep posting all of the renovations as it goes along, so watch Joe & I do what we do best!!”
As RHONJ fans may recall, Melissa and Joe listed the 9,000-square-foot home that they’d lived in since viewers first met them on season three for $3.5 million in late 2017. The couple had purchased the property 10 years prior for the same price they spent on their current home, $950,000, and turned it into a palatial six-bedroom and seven-and-a-half bathroom residence.
Years later, in late 2020, the house sold for $1 million under its initial asking price of $2.5 million.
At the time of the sale, Melissa said in an Instagram post that while she and her family “made so many memories” at the home, she was “excited to start new beginnings with [her] family.”
The Real Housewives of New Jersey season 13 is currently in production and expected to begin airing on Bravo later this year or early next year.
