Katie Maloney is reportedly “blaming” Scheana Shay for the rumored romance between her estranged husband, Tom Schwartz, and their Vanderpump Rules castmate, Raquel Leviss.
Following a bevy of reports regarding the many make-outs the alleged new couple supposedly engaged in while visiting Cancun, Mexico, for the wedding of Scheana and her now-husband, Brock Davies, Katie is not only believed to be experiencing tensions with Tom, but also with Scheana, who she feels is responsible for Tom and Raquel’s reported relationship.
“Raquel and Schwartz 100 percent hooked up during Scheana’s wedding,” a production source confirmed to Page Six on August 30. And, “Katie is mad at Scheana because she believes Scheana is responsible for Raquel and Schwartz hooking up.”
Because Tom and Raquel are both “super easygoing” and even “a bit passive” at times, Katie feels that a third party, aka Scheana, had to have been involved in the pushing forward of the potential romance.
“Who was going to make the first move?” the insider asked. “Katie thinks Scheana’s encouragement gave Raquel and Schwartz the green light to explore a connection.”
According to the report, Katie is “very annoyed over the situation,” not because her soon-to-be-ex-husband is possibly dating, but because he’s believed to be doing so within their group of friends.
“She’s just annoyed because he decided to hook up with a girl in their circle of friends,” the insider noted. “She’s blaming Scheana. “
Meanwhile, a second source insisted to the outlet that Katie actually encouraged a romance between Tom and Raquel. As the insider shared, she “planted the seed” and Scheana “simply relayed the message.”
“Katie initially put the idea out there. She told Scheana, ‘They’d be really cute together.’ Scheana simply relayed the message later on to Raquel: ‘Katie thinks that you and Schwartz would make a really good match and gave her blessing,’” the second source stated.
“It’s quite odd that Katie is aiming her angst at Scheana even though Scheana didn’t make out with anyone,” they added.
Although Tom and Raquel have kept quiet since the rumors began, Tom addressed his feelings toward his Pump Rules castmate on the July 22 episode of Scheana’s podcast, Scheananigans.
“I was so caught up in my own little world [when] I was married — I never took time to get to know Raquel,” he admitted. “She was always cool. I just never really took [the] time to invest in her. That’s a horrible way to phrase it. I never really gave her a chance. She has so much depth and character. I think I wrote her off.”
“She has so much depth and character,” he added.
Vanderpump Rules season 10 is currently in production and expected to premiere on Bravo sometime in early 2023.
