Months after the 10,277-square-foot, four-bedroom, nine-bathroom mansion, where the former Real Housewives of Beverly Hills couple lived for most of their decades-long marriage, was said to be facing foreclosure, a new court filing has confirmed that buyers Jun Tao and Peng Tao have made an offer of $7.5 million.
According to court documents obtained by Radar Online on September 26, the trustee presiding over Thomas’ bankruptcy has informed the court of the Taos’ intention to purchase the property, which had been sitting on the market since early 2021 when it was listed for $13 million.
As RHOBH fans may recall, the price of Erika and Thomas’ former home was slashed several times since it hit the market last year, going from $11.5 million to $9.98 million to $8.9 million to $8.2 million.
The new court documents also confirmed that the buyers said under oath that they have “no affiliation with Thomas Vince Girardi, his bankruptcy estate, or” the bankruptcy trustee, and they requested that a judge sign off on the deal.
Once the judge signs off, the proceeds from the sale will be used to pay back some of Thomas’ many creditors. As Radar Online explained, Thomas’ former law firm, Girardi Keese, has been hit with a whopping $517 million in claims filed against it, including $363 million in unsecured claims, $17 million in priority claims, $137 million in secured claims, and $250k in administrative claims.
“Since our offer will be part of any motion to approve, we are releasing it now so you are aware [Lauren Boyette Richards] and I are attempting to purchase [Erika Jayne]’s house from the Trustee,” Ronald announced in July.
The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills season 12 airs Wednesdays at 8/7c on Bravo.
