A pair of earrings belonging to Erika Jayne sold at an auction earlier this week for $250,000.
Just over a week after the Real Housewives of Beverly Hills star was accused of turning over a pair of earrings that wasn’t the sought-after $750,000 pair her estranged husband, Thomas Girardi, bought her years ago and later replaced, attorney Ronald Richards confirmed the successful sale was a win for the trustee presiding over Thomas’ bankruptcy case — and for Thomas’ fraud victims.
“Breaking, just completed the [Erika Jayne] earring auction. It was very well run. Great job by the staff. The earrings sold for $250,000. Very happy for the trustee and the victims of these unfortunate events. At least this money will go for a good cause,” Ronald tweeted on December 7.
Following Ronald’s Twitter announcement, the attorney faced a couple of questions from his followers.
“Will you be able to recover the real earrings?” one person asked.
“It is a mystery in progress,” he confirmed.
As RHOBH fans may have seen, Ronald shared news of the mixup surrounding Erika’s earrings with his online audience last month.
“We can safely report that the earrings that Erika Girardi gave to the Trustee are NOT the same earrings on the sales invoice aka as the replacement earrings purchased through a tax fraud by Tom Girardi where he falsely claimed the $750k check was a court cost,” Ronald alleged on November 23.
Another person on Twitter wondered, “Will the buyer(s)’s name be made public?”
“Yes eventually when a report is made,” Ronald replied.
In other Erika Jayne news, the RHOBH cast member and her disbarred attorney ex have been found liable for $2,277,344.23 in past due taxes owed to the State of California for 2019. But back in June, when news of her and Thomas’ tax debt was first shared, Erika told to the court she was unable to pay.
“I am in the midst of trying to figure out the basis of this tax bill with the assistance of my business manager, who is also an accountant,” she wrote in a filing. “I do not have the ability to pay the [California Franchise Tax Board] tax bill.”
Erika and Thomas also reportedly owe $4.5 million to the IRS for 2019.
The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills season 13 is expected to go into production in early 2023.
