Vanderpump Rules star Katie Maloney appeared on Wednesday’s episode of Watch What Happens Live, where she admitted there were clues to Tom Sandoval and Raquel Leviss‘ affair.
Before slamming Raquel’s “mistress” diss against Lala Kent, offering an update on Ariana Madix, and sharing her thoughts on ex-husband Tom Schwartz‘s potential involvement in the controversy, Katie said she discovered “clues” as she was “trolling” on Reddit, as Scheana Shay recently shaded her for doing.
“I had seen that Raquel had attended one of [Sandoval’s] shows … Normally, she’s up front with her phone in his face, jumping up and down … She didn’t post at all on her story that she was there,” Katie revealed on the March 15 episode of WWHL. “There was also some stuff maybe that we’ll see this season.”
According to Katie, even she, who was in the “cheap seats,” took note of Sandoval and Raquel’s “weird” behavior in the months leading up to “Scandoval.” And when host Andy Cohen asked her if anything else caught her off-guard on the latest Pump Rules episode, aside from her “red flag” comment about Raquel only going after the cast’s love interests, Katie said she was surprised to see Raquel go after Lala.
“Her coming at Lala, calling her a mistress, I mean, just the level of stupidity,” she fumed, admitting that she was unsure if Sandoval and Raquel’s alleged affair was going on at the time the episode was filmed.
Following the news of “Scandoval,” social media took note of the matching lightning bolt necklaces Sandoval and Raquel were frequently seen wearing, wondering if it was a hint at their relationship.
“I think he always had the lighting bolt necklace. That’s pretty much like a TomTom logo or staple,” Katie explained, noting that Raquel was wearing one because “she’s a fan.”
“She wants to emulate what he does,” Katie added.
Although many were taken aback by Sandoval and Raquel’s betrayal, Katie said she “wasn’t shocked.”
“The details were shocking. [But] I wasn’t shocked that it was Raquel,” she shared.
Luckily, despite the devastating news, Katie said that “all things considered,” Ariana is “in a really good headspace.”
“She’s taking care of herself,” Katie continued. “I saw her yesterday and we’re excited. She’s excited.”
As for Schwartz’s potential involvement, Katie responded to a question about her ex possibly being used as a pawn or decoy.
“Part of me believes that he was duped … by both of them,” she replied.
According to Katie, she doesn’t “know exactly” when Schwartz found out about Sandoval and Raquel, but she would be furious if he covered for Sandoval in any way.
“I would light him on fire,” she stated.
When Katie was then asked how soon she contacted Schwartz after “Scandoval” broke, she admitted that they didn’t reach out to one another right away.
“We’ve put our friendship on hold. So I’m not really like … We’re not like kiki-ing. It’s just about the dogs so I didn’t hit him up and he didn’t hit me up,” she revealed.
Also on WWHL, Katie said Sandoval and Raquel “better fall in love” because no one else is gonna date them, and she noted that it “doesn’t surprise” her that Lisa Vanderpump isn’t planning to distance herself professionally from Sandoval and Schwartz.
