Lala Kent revealed how she learned of Tom Sandoval and Raquel Leviss‘ affair for the first time on the latest episode of her podcast.
After the Vanderpump Rules star admitted that she suspected Sandoval had been cheating on Ariana Madix for months, Lala shared her initial reaction to the scandal while also saying that when she first learned cameras were going back up, she thought it was for a completely different reason.
“[Katie Maloney] texted me, ‘Do you know what’s going on? They’re saying I can’t go do Watch What Happens Live, that everyone has to stay in town for the next week and a half. They’re picking cameras back up,’” Lala recalled on the May 3 episode of Give Them Lala, via Heavy.
At first, Lala assumed the series had been renewed for an 11th season.
“Then I was like, ‘Something is wrong. Something happened,’” she continued. “I immediately felt it.”
Because she was concerned about her castmates’ health, Lala texted a producer to ensure no one had fallen ill.
“This is real life, these are our real friend groups,” she reasoned. “I texted him first just to make sure that everyone was safe and okay. I didn’t know, was someone diagnosed with a terminal illness? Like we’ve never picked cameras back up for any f-cking reason.”
After the producer assured Lala, “‘Everyone is healthy,’” she reached out to Scheana Shay, who confirmed to her that Sandoval had been caught having a months-long affair with Raquel.
“She said, ‘I can’t talk right now,’” Lala shared. “And I said, ‘Just tell me, is it what I’ve been suspecting?’ And she said, ‘Yes, I have to go.’”
Right away, Lala, who endured her messy split from former fiance Randall Emmett in October 2021, said she “broke down” as she empathized with the “gut punch” Ariana had been dealt.
As Pump Rules fans have seen, producers were able to capture the moments that followed the news of Sandoval’s affair. And soon, as the finale nears, viewers will watch as Ariana and her co-stars confront Sandoval about his misdeeds.
