The Real Housewives of New York City star LuAnn de Lesseps has entered a guilty plea seven months after being arrested in Palm Beach, Florida and getting violent with a police officer. Details of her plea deal are now being revealed in a new report.
The 53-yr-old RHONY star pled guilty to three charges, including resisting an officer with violence, trespassing in an occupied structure and disorderly intoxication, and will avoid spending time behind bars.
On July 23, the Daily Mail shared details of LuAnn’s plea deal, revealing that she will be on probation for one year, pay a number of fines, and perform 50 hours of community service. The reality star will also be required to attend two AA meetings each week, refrain from using drug and alcohol, attend a ‘Victim Impact Class put on by Mother’s Against Drunk Driving,’ and adhere to random drug tests, which she will be paying for, for the entire year of her probation.
LuAnn has reportedly written an apology letter to Deputy Steven O’Leary, which was also a requirement of her plea deal. The officer suffered minor injuries at the hands of LuAnn during her arrest.
Before striking her plea deal, LuAnn was facing over two years in jail for charges of battery, trespassing, and disorderly intoxication. At the time of her arrest, LuAnn was charged with felony battery on an officer, disorderly intoxication, and resisting an arrest with violence after she allegedly kicked a police officer as he attempted to take her into custody.
After the controversial arrest, LuAnn apologized for her behavior and entered a substance abuse program in rehab. She also suggested that she was in a negative headspace due to her failed marriage to Tom D’Agostino, who she wed in Palm Beach one year prior to her arrest.
“After the events of last Saturday night in Palm Beach, I am truly embarrassed,” she said in a statement at the time. “I have decided to seek professional guidance and will be voluntarily checking into an alcohol treatment center. I intend to turn this unfortunate incident into a positive life-changing event. Once again, I sincerely apologize for my actions. I have the greatest respect for police officers and the job they do. My actions alleged in the police report do not reflect my core values and my law-abiding character.”
“I am so grateful for the love and support that I am receiving from my family, friends and loyal supporters,” she added.
LuAnn entered rehab for a second time earlier this month days after being sued by her kids and ex-husband for allegedly stealing her kids’ inheritance.
