REPORT: RHONY Producer Refused to Work With Dorinda Medley Due to Her ‘Nightmare’ Behavior as She’s Accused of Being ‘Awful’ to Production

Dorinda Medley announced her exit from The Real Housewives of New York City this week in a heartfelt message to fans. The announcement signaled a voluntary departure, but new details are telling a different story.

According to a recent report, Dorinda was not only let go due to her tendencies as an alleged “mean drunk” and being a “bully” to her castmates, but she was also apparently “awful” to producers, causing them to opt for a new addition to the RHONY cast.

As fans can recall, Dorinda’s behavior this season reared into “bully” territory when she chastised Tinsley Mortimer as “invisible” and made some pretty harsh comments about her baby plans. She also raised eyebrows weeks later when she mentioned Luann de Lesseps past arrest during an argument, causing the countess to almost bail on The Berkshires.

Moreover, a recent report from All About the Real Housewives said that Dorinda was apparently “awful to producers all season” and a “nightmare to all behind the scenes.” This caused one producer to decline to return to RHONY if Dorinda was asked back. The producer noted they “wouldn’t work with Dorinda ever again based on how they were treated,” ultimately agreeing to work on another franchise.

Apparently not all production was anti-Dorinda, with another source claiming on August 25 what a “big mistake” it was to fire her and how axing the “fan favorite” would be an “error” the network would definitely “regret.”

“Think about it, there will be no more Clip!, no more Bluestone Manor and no more voice of reason. How will the show celebrate the holidays without Dorinda? What are we going to do, follow Luann’s virtual cabaret show next season?” the insider stated.

Still, enough members of the staff working behind-the-scenes on RHONY were fed up with the reality star’s behavior, specifically noting how her actions (or non-actions) at the reunion put the nail in the coffin.

The source revealed that Dorinda was not apologetic in the slightest at the reunion, and she didn’t own up to any of her behavior — a move that definitely didn’t sit well with the higher-ups at Bravo.

Another source echoed those same sentiments on August 25 to Page Six, pointing out what executives were looking for and were ultimately disappointed by.

“If she’d have said [at the end of the season], ‘Look — I’ve been depressed and that’s why I’m acting like this,’ or, ‘I miss my [husband, Richard, who died in 2011],’ and said she’d work on it, I think it would have been different,” the source explained.
