Lala Kent and Randall Emmett were supposed to tie the knot in April of last year, but now, one year later, they may not get married at all.
During a recent TV show appearance, the Vanderpump Rules cast member explained why she’s in no rush to get married before looking back on a dramatic appearance she made on Watch What Happens Live with co-star James Kennedy that resulted in the two of them being banned from Andy Cohen‘s late-night talk show.
“The first wedding got canceled due to the pandemic and then the two other times that we tried to plan it, it was just not looking [good],” Lala admitted on the May 5 episode of The Wendy Williams Show. “We want our guests to show up and feel safe and not be worried that they’re going to come down with something.”
Although Lala told Wendy she was “waiting it out,” she also noted that marriage may not be the right thing for her and Randall, who’ve been engaged since September 2018.
“I want to be in a relationship that we want to be in. I don’t ever want him to feel like, ‘Uh, I’m stuck because we signed that thing.’ Or I’m feeling like I’m stuck because we signed that thing. I want to, if at any point in time he’s over it or I’m over it, we can say we share a beautiful daughter together and part ways,” she explained. “We’re in no rush to get married. We may, we may not.”
Either way, Lala said her new daughter, Ocean Kent Emmett, is her priority, and potentially, her “bag.”
“They say that I secured the bag,” Lala joked, suggesting that she’ll have access to Randall’s money with or without getting married.
As for her WWHL ban, Lala said Andy temporarily kept her away from his show after she and James got wasted and hurtled continuous profanities during a live broadcast in 2015.
“James and I started drinking at six in the morning, before our flight. And by the time we recorded at 11 p.m., we were slammed. I just kept dropping the F-bomb… It was so, just gross,” she confessed. “And Andy warned us. He said, ‘You’ve gotta stop cursing.’ And then he started getting pissed. And that’s when I knew to reel it in, but the next day was when it hit the press that Andy was disgusted and would never have us back on his show again.”
Luckily, after showing that she could act with class at the Pump Rules reunion for season four, Andy welcomed her back to WWHL.
“They pre-recorded it and I didn’t cuss one time,” she recalled.
Vanderpump Rules season nine is expected to go into production sometime early this month.
