Nicki Minaj reportedly targeted Candiace Dillard-Bassett as she helped Andy Cohen host the Real Housewives of Potomac season six reunion last week.
According to a new report, the rapper, who shocked the cast when she showed up to film a segment of the upcoming special, didn’t hold back when it came to her criticism of Candiace. And after the episodes were taped, Mia Thornton, who feuded with Candiace throughout season six, reacted to the women’s alleged encounter on Instagram.
“She came hard for Candiace [Dillard] and read her,” a source close to production revealed to Hollywood Life on October 10. “It was an epic moment.”
Although Nicki had shared her thoughts on the sixth season of RHOP on a number of occasions earlier this year and actually spoke of potentially hosting the reunion, no one on the cast was informed of her appearance at the taping in advance.
“Nicki showed up around 9:15 p.m. and none of the ladies knew she was there,” the source stated. “They were so shocked when she walked out. They knew it was a possibility but her appearance was saved for the very end as a total surprise.”
During the appearance, Nicki reportedly asked the cast questions she got from her online audience.
“She asked the ladies [three] or [four] questions that were sent to her from The Barbz into her DMs off social media,” the insider explained.
Following the sharing of the report, Mia shared a screenshot of the article on her Instagram Stories, along with her reaction.
“Welp,” she wrote, seemingly confirming she was satisfied.
In August, after Nicki seemingly threw shade at Candiace’s song, “Drive Back,” by asking, “What’s dat,” the musician admitted to having some questions for Candiace.
“[At the] reunion ima have to get into some thangz wit sissy. Cuz chiiiile,” she wrote on Instagram.
Following the comment, Candiace spoke to Entertainment Tonight, saying, “I did not take what she said about my song as shade.” She also made it clear that she was unwilling to rehash her physical encounter with Monique Samuels with Nicki.
“She said, ‘Oh, it’s a nice song, but we have things to talk about at the reunion.’ And I was like, ‘OK girl, bye. Get on this track, and then let’s go home. I ain’t talking to you about nothing that happened in season 5.'”
