Brittany Cartwright is offering an update on where she and Jax Taylor stand with Ariana Madix and Tom Sandoval following Jax’s years-long feud with Sandoval.
During a recent podcast appearance, the Vanderpump Rules alum shared where she stands with her former co-stars before reacting to her and Jax’s potential return, addressing the many recent splits of the show, and revealing the “in the works” projects Jax continues to tease on social media.
“I talk to them a lot,” Brittany confirmed of Ariana and Tom on the May 23 episode of Behind the Velvet Rope With David Yontef podcast. “I was out with Ariana not that long ago for my makeup [artist’s] birthday. And we had such a good time. It was really good to spend some time with her.”
Meanwhile, according to Brittany, Jax’s relationship with Sandoval is “up in the air.” And, if they were to cross paths, things might be “a little bit awkward.”
“Jax doesn’t like hate him or anything… They just don’t really talk to each other,” she clarified.
In recent weeks, rumors have been swirling in regard to a potential return of the OGs, including Brittany, Jax, Stassi Schroeder, and Kristen Doute. And while those reports are unverified, Brittany certainly isn’t against the idea of going back to Bravo.
“That would be up to Jax because for me, if he did it, I would do it,” she explained. “He’s a little bit more hard-headed than me… After, you know, not being on it for a whole season, I feel like it [would] kind of be a little bit weird for him. But at the same time, some of our best friends are still on the show and you know, that was a huge part of our life.”
If Brittany and Jax were to return, Brittany said fans would see a different side of Jax now that he’s a dad (the couple welcomed son Cruz Michael Cauchi in April 2021).
“He is just like the most amazing dad… It’s incredible to see how much he’s grown. I mean, I wish people could see it honestly because he’s just as grown up so much,” Brittany shared. “He still got his same little Jax tendencies. He is still, you know, gonna be himself. But at the same time, he’s, he’s just grown a lot, and he, I think he knows what’s important now.”
As some cast members welcomed their first children, a number of others were dealt with the end of their relationships, including Katie Maloney and Tom Schwartz, who confirmed their breakup in March.
“That breaks my heart so, so much. As long as I’ve lived here, they’ve been together,” Brittany said of the former pair. “I’ve never known them apart. So it’s just crazy to see. And it’s sad to see because I love them both so much, but at the same time they deserve to be happy.”
“It’ll be crazy if they ever with somebody else or anything, but at the same time they just, they deserve to be happy,” she added.
Brittany then noted that Lala Kent‘s split from Randall Emmett is a “little bit different” and said she’s definitely Team Lala.
“I know that she’s had to go through a lot recently, and I just want to be there to support her. I haven’t talked to Randall or anything since it all happened,” Brittany revealed, saying that she hopes Lala and Randall will one day be able to see “eye-to-eye” as they raise their daughter, Ocean.
While Brittany is no longer in touch with Randall, the same can’t be said for Jax.
“They have like certain like business deal deals and stuff that were going on previously… I don’t try to get too much into that because that’s just a whole mess. And I feel like that’s more Lala’s business,” Brittany stated. “[But] I feel bad.”
As for James Kennedy and Raquel Leviss‘ split, Brittany said she was “not really” surprised, even though she didn’t know them all that well.
“I think Raquel is a sweetheart… [But] I [could] tell from the start, like he just wasn’t very nice to her,” Brittany reflected.
Also during the podcast, Brittany responded to Jax’s ongoing claims of having something “in the works,” stating that they actually do have things “in the works.”
“There are definitely things that are in the works,” she confirmed. “It just, you know, things take time and it’s a process… I don’t want to like jump the gun and say like for sure something’s going to happen, but we’re definitely, we’re definitely shopping around and definitely looking into different ideas and different things.”
“I think it would be awesome for people to see this chapter with Cruz. We’re still fun. Just because we’re parents does not mean we’re not fun. We are so fun,” she added.
