In a court filing in Missouri in June, the former Real Housewives of Orange County cast member accused Jim of verbally abusing her over their current custody arrangement for their kids, both in text messages and on their Family Wizard app, which they use for co-parenting purposes.
According to court documents obtained by TMZ on September 8, Meghan claimed to have sustained “frequent and consistent verbal abuse” from Jim. However, when it comes to the specifics of his statements against her, they were not revealed. Instead, an insider simply explained that their shared custody arrangement, specifically their schedule for pickups and drop-offs, has been a source of contention between them.
As the source shared, Meghan claims Jim hasn’t followed their agreement.
The outlet also suggested that while Meghan wants their case to remain public, Jim has been trying to have the case sealed.
In response to his ex-wife‘s allegations against him, Jim shared a statement, via his rep, Steve Honig.
“This request for an order of protection is completely baseless and furthermore makes an absolute mockery of the pain suffered by the millions of women in this country who are legitimate victims of abuse,” the statement read.
A hearing in regard to whether the restraining order should be made public will take place later this month, although an exact date was not given.
Meghan’s filing against Jim came just weeks before Jim accused her of putting their son Hart, and his medical condition, on display and clarified that while she claims he has cerebral palsy, he’s actually suffering from periventricular leukomalacia, which is “a softening of the white brain tissue near the ventricles.”
“If Meghan wants to improve her ability to co-parent with Jim, it might be a good idea for her to stop constantly disparaging him,” Jim added at the time, via his rep.
Meghan was seen alongside Jim on The Real Housewives of Orange County from season 10 through season 12.
