Gizelle Bryant and Robyn Dixon appeared on Sunday’s episode of Watch What Happens Live, where they dished on Mia Thornton‘s fight with Wendy Osefo and reacted to claims of hypocrisy regarding their handling of the situation.
Before shading Karen Huger for renting and suggesting Wendy used Peter Thomas for a storyline on The Real Housewives of Potomac, cast member Gizelle said that when it came to their drama-filled trip to Miami, fans didn’t see everything.
After she and Robyn agreed that Mia not apologizing to Wendy was “petty” on the December 18 episode of WWHL, Gizelle changed her tune, revealing that there was a key moment between the two that was left out of the episode.
“I take that back. Mia did apologize to Wendy. She texted her. They just didn’t show it,” Gizelle explained. Robyn then confirmed, “We woke up to an apology text.”
Ever since the episode aired, Gizelle and Robyn have been accused of acting hypocritically due to the way they seemingly overlooked Mia’s aggression after speaking out against Monique Samuels seasons prior in regard to her fight with Candiace Dillard-Bassett.
“It’s apples and oranges,” Gizelle said when asked about the issue. “Monique was definitely beating up Candiace. It was a drink. It was water across the table. And, they didn’t show it, but in another clip, Karen and I were talking and I said, ‘Mia shouldn’t have done that. That was totally wrong.’ However, I don’t like Wendy. So I internally kiki’d when it happened.”
According to Gizelle, she told Mia she was wrong but they “just didn’t show it.”
“We said it at the table,” Robyn recalled. “I said I thought Mia was wrong in the drink throw and I think there was some context left out because I was telling Wendy, I was trying to tell her to stop because I was really worried about what may happen to her with her job and I did not want her to get physical on TV and so that’s why I was saying, ‘You’re antagonizing her,’ because I didn’t want her to cause Mia to do something that would require Wendy to defend herself.”
When host Andy Cohen then asked if they thought they had held Mia accountable for throwing her drink and her purse at Wendy, Gizelle said again that they had told her she was wrong that night.
“Why are we the accountability police? I don’t look at a drink throw as mad as somebody [putting their hands on somebody],” Robyn added, noting that she agreed the Monique comparison was “apples and oranges.”
As for fans thinking otherwise, Gizelle stated, “I don’t know what they get.”
Moving on to Karen, Andy wanted to know what she thought about Karen suggesting her live event idea wasn’t related to her and Robyn’s own live show.
“She’s lying,” Gizelle quickly replied.
And she also didn’t hesitate when asked about Karen only complimenting her chandelier after her home renovation.
“Well, Karen doesn’t have a home. She’s renting so she has no say,” Gizelle declared. “She has a home. She’s just renting so until you own a home, you have no say.”
And she wasn’t done there. After being asked about Karen counting the empty seats at her and Robyn’s podcast show, Gizelle said, “Let’s just wait for Karen’s show,” and she determined, along with Robyn, that Charrisse Jackson-Jordan was the real grand dame.
Gizelle even slammed Karen for immediately telling Mia what she’d said about her, saying that she could have given it “48 hours” before Robyn suggested Karen was “channeling you a little bit” with her pot-stirring.
“She does that often. Karen was very messy this season — I feel more so than ever,” Gizelle replied.
As for her thoughts on Candiace’s mom calling her snake, Gizelle said she hadn’t yet spoken to her co-star about the diss and confessed to not taking offense.
“The first time I saw it was when everybody saw it. I thought it was actually kinda funny. I wasn’t mad at it,” she shared. “It was like, Gizelle shade. It was fine.”
Later, on the WWHL: After Show, Gizelle was asked by a fan if she’d follow Robyn in making amends with Wendy.
“I don’t have a problem with it she just won’t talk… No… what am I saying? Yes. No amends for me,” she confirmed.
Also during the live broadcast, after saying that when it comes to Wendy and Peter’s supposed drama, she believes Wendy “used that for a storyline,” Gizelle responded to a fan who wanted to know why she felt Chris Bassett owes her an apology if he did nothing wrong and left when she asked him to.
“He has apologized… Because he was wrong,” she revealed.
Then, when asked if she really thinks Candiace has something to worry about with Chris, Gizelle said, “Yes. Correct. I do,” as Robyn said, “No.”
The Real Housewives of Potomac season seven airs Sundays at 8/7c on Bravo.
