Teresa Giudice and Luis Ruelas were questioned about the allegedly “fake” Cartier bracelets he purchased her daughters for Christmas while appearing on Watch What Happens Live on Tuesday night.
Before the Real Housewives of New Jersey star opened up about her first marriage to Joe Giudice and shaded sister-in-law Melissa Gorga‘s singing, the couple denied Luis bought Cartier as Luis raised questions from host Andy Cohen after mentioning his new career in lead generation ad sales.
“You think Luis would buy fake bracelets?” Teresa asked on the February 14 episode of WWHL. “Absolutely not.”
“No,” Luis agreed.
And after confirming he has a better relationship with Joe Giudice than Joe Gorga, Luis explained his career.
“I started a new company … It’s in media, digital media … Lead generation ad sales,” he shared, prompting concerns from Andy.
“Well, lead generation … Isn’t that what Jen Shah is going to [prison for]?” Andy asked.
“No,” Luis replied. “It’s a little bit different.”
According to Teresa, Luis is her “soulmate.” And when it came to her first marriage, she’s not so sure she was even in love with Joe Giudice.
“Listen, he was [a good dad] and I knew him my whole life and I think I just wanted, because my parents were really strict and my first boyfriend really did me wrong,” she explained. “I dated him for six years and he cheated on me and I was hating guys at the time. I was so disgusted and then Joe was just like, I feel like he was just safe. I just felt like he would make a good husband but I don’t know if I was, I thought I was in love with him but when I met Luis, it’s a whole different thing.”
As for her ex-husband‘s potential cheating, Teresa said she “never caught him” and never would have stayed with him if she had.
“I don’t know. I had [suspicions]. I asked these two women that I thought he did with and they both denied it,” she shared.
Then, after Andy noted that Jacqueline Laurita was “pretty sure about it,” Teresa reminded him that she never had proof.
“You need to show me proof. I can’t just leave my kids’ father because someone’s telling me he’s cheating on me,” Teresa shared. “Prove it. Because then I can say that to my kids, like, look, ‘This is who he cheated on me with.’ I always thought about that. They would question me, like, ‘Ma, you just, based on what Jacqueline said?’ Even my brother mentioned it once and it’s like, show me.”
In addition to Luis having a good relationship with Joe Giudice, Teresa said she’s on good terms with Luis’ ex-wife, Marisa DiMartino.
“[She’s] lovely. We’ve hung out. We went to Atlantic City, spent the weekend together,” she revealed.
Teresa was then asked about the drama between Dolores Catania and Jennifer Aydin, which was prevalent on the premiere episode of RHONJ season 13 earlier this month.
“I don’t take sides between the two of them because I’m really friends with both of them, and thank God they’re good, so you’re gonna just have to keep watching to see how it plays out but I love them both,” she explained.
And when Andy asked if Melissa’s failure to shut down Margaret Josephs amid season 12 as she brought Luis’ dirty laundry up on the show was the reason she didn’t include Melissa as a bridesmaid in her wedding, Teresa confirmed, “Yeah.”
“It was a big reason,” she declared. “Because Luis just came into my life and that’s going to be her future brother-in-law so I felt like she should have his back and have my back.”
Teresa was also asked why she doesn’t reach out to Joe to make amends if she’s all about family.
“Keep watching the whole season. I bent over backwards,” she insisted.
During this week’s episode of RHONJ, Melissa insisted that she was welcoming to Luis when he and Teresa began dating in 2020. But when asked about the matter, Luis seemed to suggest she didn’t go out of her way.
“She was welcoming towards me. We went to her house twice over the summertime. But that’s normally what family would do,” he indicated. “It’s not much more than that.”
Luis and Teresa then shaded Melissa’s singing, saying that on a scale of one to 10, “On Display” is a “one,” and they agreed Teresa misses Caroline Manzo being on RHONJ more than she misses Kathy Wakile.
Also on the show, just as it came to an end, Teresa announced she’s now part of Dano’s Tequila, and she gifted Andy a bottle.
