Kyle Richards teased the new season of The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills while attending Elton John AIDS Foundation Oscar Party on Sunday night.
As Kathy Hilton, Crystal Kung-Minkoff, and Dorit Kemsley, also spoke of season 13, Kyle suggested the new episodes will feature “the aftermath” of season 12. She also hinted that new cast members would be added and looked back at the drama she and her co-stars faced during their group trip to Las Vegas.
“There’s a lot of changes, you know, some faces you won’t be seeing and probably some new faces and some visits,” Kyle teased during an interview with Access Hollywood. “We always want to have fun and bring the glamour and all that but there’s inevitably always going to be drama so it’s already started.”
According to Kyle, the latest tiff between cast members occurred in Sin City.
“Of course there was drama. I mean, it just, right out of the gate. What can I say?” she asked. “I came back and we were only there for 48 hours and I slept since then, basically. I was sleeping, taking naps. I don’t normally do that.”
Also during the interview, Kyle’s husband, Mauricio Umansky, addressed the potential second season of his Netflix reality series Buying Beverly Hills.
“I hope so but we’re not there yet. We’re almost there, I hope,” he said.
Then, while speaking to E! News, Kyle addressed her recent weight loss, confirming she’s still not drinking after cutting alcohol out of her diet last summer.
“It’s going really well. People are a little annoyed with me I think, though. People are like, ‘Are you gonna drink? When are you gonna drink?’ even when we’re shooting but yeah, I feel too good to start again so we’ll see,” she reasoned. “They can drive me to drink sometimes, trust me.”
Although Kyle suffered a massive falling out with Kathy during season 12, only reuniting with her on Sunday after a months-long estrangement, she didn’t shut down the idea of both her sisters, including Kim Richards, taking part in season 13.
“You never know. This season is young. We’ve just begun,” she noted, proceeding to share birthday wishes to Kathy, who turned 64 on Monday.
“[I want her] to be healthy and happy, like I want for all of us,” Kyle revealed.
When she was then asked to name her “biggest ally” and “biggest frenemy,” Kyle said Dorit was her closest ally and denied having a frenemy at this stage in production.
“I’m starting out with a clean this season for me but … the season is young and that slate doesn’t always [stay clean] — it actually never does,” she said.
As E! News continued on with their red carpet interviews at the Oscars party, Kathy teased her RHOBH return, saying, “Stay tuned,” before Crystal confirmed Kathy “hasn’t yet” filmed for season 13.
“It’s a totally new dynamic and every year for me, I’m always a little bit nervous heading in but so far so good,” Crystal added.
And Dorit, who, like Crystal, was hopeful for Kathy’s return but said there’s “no plans” as of yet, said she also doesn’t have a “frenemy” on the cast.
“Best friend I guess would be Kyle and I don’t have a frenemy yet but it’s still very early,” she stated, adding that it was “nice to see” former co-star Lisa Rinna at the event.
Dorit went on to say that while she’s “mildly getting through” the trauma of her 2021 home robbery, something recently set her back.
“I had a little setback about eight weeks ago but you’ll have to find that out in the upcoming season, what happened,” she explained.
The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills season 13 is expected to premiere on Bravo sometime later this year.
