Jennifer Aydin is clapping back at Margaret Josephs‘ claims that she and Teresa Giudice attempted to share the false rumor about Melissa Gorga allegedly cheating on husband Joe Gorga at The Real Housewives of New Jersey season 12 reunion.
After Margaret accused the women of waiting to tell all until the cameras were rolling, Jennifer denied being the spreader of the false report while also addressing rumors about her marriage to husband Bill Aydin and offering an update on where she and Dolores Catania stand after their season 13 feud.
“I did not spread it, okay? Margaret spread it,” Jennifer confirmed on a recent episode of Access Hollywood’s Housewives Nightcap. “Margaret should shut her big mouth.”
According to Jennifer, Margaret’s former best friend, Laura Marasca Jensen, was “adamant” about passing on the rumor, but she had no intention to share it at the season 12 reunion. In fact, she claims Teresa planned only to bring the information to her brother in private.
After noting that Margaret also “put out” the false rumor about Evan Goldschneider cheating in season 11, and revealed the infidelity of her husband, Bill, in season 12, Jennifer said she wanted to communicate the rumor to Melissa to showcase Margaret’s pattern.
“I don’t want to hurt Melissa. I don’t want to hurt her family. It was always about trying to let everybody know who Margaret is and what her true colors are,” she explained. “It was really to tell Melissa, like, ‘Listen, I don’t know if you should trust her. She told her friend this.’ And I did tell Melissa this before we started filming on a telephone conversation.”
Looking back at Margaret’s reveal of Bill’s cheating, Jennifer admitted she “ambushed” him when she admitted the news was true.
“He struggled with the fact that ‘I feel that you shared this story because it was my infidelity and not yours, so I struggle with that,'” she revealed before noting that they share “no secrets” today.
“He still shows up for me. He is fist-pumping and high-fiving it with everybody for me. And to me, that speaks volumes,” she shared. “We are committed to the commitment. So as much as Margaret would like for me to leave my ‘unhappy marriage,’ it’s not happening.”
Moving on to her tension with Dolores, Jennifer said she wasn’t happy with the way Dolores had been treating her at the start of the season.
“I had issues with the way she was treating me and her not wanting to acknowledge that and her rebutting me with more confrontation,” Jennifer stated. “Her response was almost like, ‘Alright, I don’t give a sh-t.’ I was just really trying to get her to be understanding and say, ‘Jen, I love you. That’s so not it and I did not want to hurt your feelings.’ And that’s not what I got.”
After ultimately apologizing to her RHONJ castmate, Jennifer confirmed the two of them “are in a better place” today.
Also during the interview, after being asked if the cast would ultimately make amends, Jennifer said, “There’s always a possibility when people are willing to take accountability for their actions.”
The Real Housewives of New Jersey season 13 airs Tuesdays at 9/8c on Bravo.
