Ahead of her on-screen fight with a co-star, who she claims is “inauthentic,” Denise admitted to thinking the series was scripted before dishing on Lisa Vanderpump‘s much-needed Puppy Gate apology and Brandi’s potential return to the show.
“I thought it was scripted. That’s what’s funny. I really did because, being a fan of the show, watching it for nine seasons, I thought, ‘Oh, it has to be softly scripted,’” Denise admitted. “There were times early on in the season when there was some fights where I would say, ‘Did anyone set this up?’”
“I think she shows but I don’t think she’ll stay there the whole time,” she explained. “I think she’s going to come on and when she’s done, she’s done.”
While the majority of the first half of the RHOBH has been based around Puppy Gate and the person behind a leaked Radar Online story about Dorit Kemsley, Denise said she had trouble following the plot line.
“When I came in, I only filmed a couple of days and then I was in the Bahamas. I didn’t know what the f**k was going on. I was very confused,” she explained.
According to Denise, she really enjoyed getting to know Lisa at the start of season nine and said she’d love to see her return to filming, as her fans would hope. That said, she doesn’t like seeing the cast being accused of “trying to take her down” and expressed sadness over the way in which her friendship with Kyle Richards came to an end.
Denise also suggested she had sided with Kyle and the rest of the cast and encouraged Lisa to speak out about her employees’ possible involvement with the leaked story. Although Denise said it was possible that Lisa was not behind the leaked story, she also said was hoping to see an apology of some sort from the restauranteur.
“She could say, ‘I feel horrible for that. I didn’t personally do that but someone [that works for me] possibly said it to the wrong person,’” Denise offered.
“If it’s not true, talk about it!” she added.
Denise then addressed reports of a possible exit from Lisa, explaining that it would be a bit “odd” to see her return to the show for season 10 now that she’s estranged from the cast. As for a potential replacement, Denise said she’s “pushing” for Brandi to be brought back to the show in a full-time role after her season nine guest appearance.
“Fans are so excited to see that you are coming up. It’s a few episodes away and I think it’s going to be fun for people to see and they’re very excited to see you,” Denise told Brandi of her upcoming cameo. “As soon as people saw us together, they were very excited.”
As for which co-star Denise accused of being fake, that honor belongs to Camille Grammer. Although Denise acknowledged that Camille doesn’t have a mean bone in her body, she suggested that many of her season nine antics were both confusing and phony.
“I was shocked at some of the stuff she was saying. She’s been through so much publicly, why would you say certain things about your friends publicly?” Denise wondered. “It’s not consistent.”
“She was very different [on camera],” Denise added. “I was not happy with [Camille].”
While Denise said she’s laid back for the most part, fans saw an out-of-character moment from her when she screamed at Camille and while chatting with Brandi, Denise said she wouldn’t hesitate to defend herself or her friends if someone was attacking them.
“I am so loyal and I will fight for love and people that are in my life that I care about,” she explained.
Also during her interview with Brandi, Denise opened up about the most difficult part of her reality role, stating that when it comes to filming, cast trips are the very hardest.
“As soon as you show up, before the airport, you have a mic on and they’re filming you and it’s 24/7 almost,” she shared. “It’s a lot.”
