RHOBH Alum Denise Richards on "Strained" Relationship With Sami, Why She Really Said "Bravo, Bravo," and $4 Million Salary Report, Plus Brandi Affair Rumors

Denise Richards appeared on Jeff Lewis‘ radio show on Friday, where she offered an update on her relationship with her oldest daughter Sami, 17, who moved in with her dad, Charlie Sheen, in 2021 after seemingly suggesting she was “trapped” in an “abusive home” with Denise and husband Aaron Phypers.

Before revealing the truth about her “Bravo, Bravo, f-cking Bravo” moment on The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills and reacting to salary and affair rumors, Denise admitted that things between her and Sami are currently “strained.”

“I have a strained relationship with her and it’s very difficult. I know though we’ll get back to where we were, eventually. But right now, it is strained,” Denise admitted on the February 11 episode of SiriusXM’s Jeff Lewis Live. “Obviously I would love for her to live with me. She lived with me all these years.”

Denise and Charlie were married from 2002 to 2006 and share two daughters, including 16-year-old Lola. However, as Denise revealed, the two of them were never on the same page in terms of their parenting.

“I don’t agree with certain things but that’s okay. We can agree to disagree,” Denise explained, confirming Sami is no longer attending school.

“There’s certain rules and I enforce them and there’s different rules in that house and that’s okay… I wouldn’t say I’m super strict. But I do have rules and boundaries and you have to follow them,” she added.

As for her “Bravo, Bravo” outburst, Denise said the comment was edited completely out of context by RHOBH producers.

“When I sat down to that dinner, I was dealing with some stuff with my children and they started to go at me,” Denise recalled. “This is before I heard what Teddi said about Brandi. Prior to that, they were already starting in and I’m like, ‘Oh, my God. I can’t believe, another f-cking dinner of dealing with this sh-t.’ And so I blurted out what I was dealing with and I said the ‘Bravo, Bravo, f-cking Bravo.'”

According to Denise, she said the phrase, which she learned from Kyle Richards and Lisa Rinna, after revealing something she shouldn’t have about her kids, not the Brandi Glanville affair rumors, as the edited scene suggested.

Regarding her supposed $4 million salary, Denise denied making even a couple of million for her time on RHOBH.

“I don’t know who started the rumor when I first joined the show that I got $4 million,” Denise shared. “No offense Bravo… they don’t pay a lot of money.”

Moving on to the topic of Brandi and her claims of a past hookup, Denise said, point blank, “If I f-cked her, I would have said, ‘Yeah, I f-cked her. So what?'”

“I never had a fling with her,” she continued. “She wasn’t even filming with us. It was the weirdest thing and the weirdest storyline but looking back at some of the things that were brought up prior to that, I don’t know if it was set up.”

Noting the way in which her castmates made a spectacle about threesomes during a group dinner and her and Aaron’s home during an early moment of season 10, Denise said that too felt “set up.”

“They started talking about threesomes, [and] I thought it was odd. And then they kept bringing it up and then they were making such an issue out of it. I thought that was very odd,” she admitted. “[But] I don’t know if it was from production.”

Denise went on to reveal that she actually warned her RHOBH co-stars about potential backlash from fans due to the way in which they treated her amid season 10.

“I kept telling the women, ‘You guys gotta ease up because it’s not going to look good. Why do you have to be so mean?’ They were very aggressive the whole season,” she explained. “It’s like they pick one person each season and go after and that season it was obviously me.”

Denise joined The Real Housewives of Beverly Hills in 2019 for season nine and continued to star on the Bravo series through season 10, which concluded in 2020.
