Scheana Shay may be done having kids.
Over a year after welcoming daughter Summer Moon Honey Davies, 17 months, the Vanderpump Rules star, who spent five days in the intensive care unit after being diagnosed with HELLP (Hemolysis, Elevated Liver enzymes, and Low Platelets) syndrome following Summer’s birth is opening up about her pregnancy concerns.
“Emotionally, I genuinely feel like I have PTSD [Post Traumatic Stress Disorder] from that because now that our daughter is about to turn a year and a half, and [husband Brock Davies] really wants another, and I’m like not now but not one fiber in my body wants another baby, possibly ever,” Scheana admitted during an October 2022 episode of the Coupleish podcast, via Heavy.
Although Scheana is fairly certain that another pregnancy is out of the question, she confirmed she’s open to using a surrogate or adoption.
She also said that while she loves being a mom, parenting is “the scariest job [she] will ever do in [her] entire life.” And, after Brock, who she married in August, told her she was “a great mum,” Scheana admitted to feeling insecure sometimes.
“I don’t always feel that way. I feel like I’m the best at showing this child like unconditional love, but I don’t always feel like I’m the best mom. I really don’t. Because you are such a good dad, and I’m like, ‘F-ck I could have done that better,'” she explained.
While attending BravoCon in October, Scheana said during a panel that she didn’t want kids when she first began starring on Pump Rules.
“Season one Scheana did not think she would have kids. I was very much like, ‘I don’t need kids to complete my life.’ And now that I have [Summer], oh my god. I couldn’t imagine anything else, so I think season one Scheana would be very proud of the mom I am now,” she noted.
Also, during the interview, Scheana said that fans would be seeing more from her daughter on the upcoming 10th season of Pump Rules.
“This seasons she’s playing, she’s talking, she’s walking, she’s interacting,” Scheana teased. “When the cameras are there, she thrives. Literally. She’s like, ‘Oh you want to see me do this?’”
As Pump Rules fans may have heard, the same can’t be said for Lala Kent‘s daughter, Ocean Kent Emmett, 19 months, whose father, Randall Emmett, has blocked her from appearing on the show.
“Randall felt being a storyline on a reality show was not in the best interest of his child and continues to put her wellbeing and privacy first and foremost,” his rep told Reality Blurb in a statement.
Vanderpump Rules season 10 is expected to begin airing on Bravo sometime later this year or early next year.
