Kandi Burruss appeared on Sunday night’s Watch What Happens Live, where she revealed the bad investment she made at the prompting of her husband Todd Tucker.
Before taking on a number of topics pertaining to The Real Housewives of Atlanta and her new spinoff, Kandi & the Gang, including the relationship between Porsha Williams and Simon Guobadia, and the feud between Kenya Moore and Cynthia Bailey, Kandi spoke to host Andy Cohen about Todd’s “great idea.”
“A truck. Todd had a great idea to do a trucking company and it wasn’t really a great idea,” Kandi revealed on the March 6 episode of WWHL.
Then, when asked if she felt Porsha and Simon moved too quickly in their relationship, which began amid rumors of her potential reconciliation with Dennis McKinley and just months after his split from ex-wife Falynn Guobadia, Kandi admitted she did.
“I might get in trouble for this answer. First, I loved the show. I thought it was a really good show because it was good TV. I watched every episode… Do I think that she moved on quickly? I like Simon. This is not against him. I do think she moved on pretty fast, not that she couldn’t date, but to throw the ring on… She loves love,” Kandi noted. “It’s funny because me and her had this argument before when I told her I felt like she was moving too fast in the last relationship.”
“She was like mad at me for saying something and so I promised I wouldn’t speak on her relationships anymore so I need to shut up,” Kandi continued.
While taking questions from fans, Kandi responded to someone who wanted to know why she keeps Shawndreca Robinson on her staff at Old Lady Gang, even though Shawndreca has a history of sparking negative reviews online.
“The thing about Shawndreca is she’s our longest-running host. It’s hard to keep a good host. And she’s not necessarily the best host. But she’s a host and we need her,” Kandi explained. “It’s really been hard to get employees. And so the people that are loyal to me, I try to be loyal to them.”
Although Cynthia announced her departure from RHOA, along with Porsha, last fall as filming began on season 14, Kandi said she’s heard plenty about her current tension with Kenya, which was evident throughout the debut season of Real Housewives: Ultimate Girls Trip.
“I was having to hear that outside of the show. They’re still not on the best of terms,” Kandi confirmed. “It’s kind of weird when both friends talk to you about something and both say, ‘Don’t say anything’ … I just know they both have totally different views on their issues and I hope that one day we can get them together.”
Moving onto the upcoming 14th season of RHOA, which will reportedly premiere sometime this spring, Kandi said she believes the new episodes are “fire.”
“At the beginning, when we lost two peaches, I was a little nervous but I am so happy with how it all came together. When I tell y’all, it was just craziness from the beginning to end. A lot of funny. A lot of people showing a lot of transparency. So you can see what’s happening in these relationships,” she teased.
“I also like it because there actually was a lot of sisterhood too, there was a lot of rooting each other on,” Andy added.
Kandi went on to say that filming on season 14 was much different than years past.
“Can I say it was different taping this year. I guess I’m used to dealing with some of the people from the past where we didn’t really talk a lot and stuff like that but the girls this season, they really wanted to keep in touch, keep the group text going, talk outside of filming,” Kandi shared. “It was a lot different.”
