RHOP’s Gizelle Bryant on Unsurprising Karen Rumors, Thoughts on Dating Peter Thomas, and Ashley’s Divorce, Plus Teases RHUGT Season 3 and Live Viewing Thread

Gizelle Bryant believes the recently-premiered seventh season of The Real Housewives of Potomac is their “best yet.”

In addition to speaking out about the new season of RHOP and the upcoming season of the Real Housewives: Ultimate Girls Trip, Gizelle reacted to the rumors suggesting Karen Huger stepped out on her marriage to Ray Huger, explained her relationship with Peter Thomas, and shared her thoughts on Ashley Darby‘s split from husband,  Michael Darby.

“Season seven is our best season yet… It is fire, it is drama, it is funny, typical [RHOP],” Gizelle explained during an October 5 interview with E! News. “And it’s a lot of different, you have to like pay attention the whole time because the drama goes from person to person to person… It’s all over the place.”

One particular scene that’s caused a stir within the RHOP world features Candiace Dillard-Bassett suggesting Karen was “sneaking out of town with someone that wasn’t Ray.” And, according to Gizelle, she wasn’t exactly caught off-guard by the claim.

“Nothing I was shocked about. Karen has a lot of explaining to do this season as it relates to that, and hopefully, she will. Hopefully, she’ll be open and honest,” Gizelle noted.

Still, despite her potential concerns about Karen’s behavior, Gizelle said she and Karen, “for the most part,” were “kinda getting along” during filming on RHOP season seven.

“Anytime there was like a moment that was like, we really need to discuss, and it might escalate to something bigger, we handled it,” Gizelle revealed. “We handled it in a way that was more-so longstanding friendship as opposed to just catty and messy.”

As for her relationship with Peter, the former husband of Real Housewives of Atlanta alum Cynthia Bailey, who she was linked to earlier this year, Gizelle confirmed she’s “dating” and “single” before sharing that she’s known Peter for years.

“Peter comes around the group. I didn’t bring him around the group, someone else did. I think you saw that, and no, Peter and I have never dated, [and] will not date,” she confirmed. “I think he’s a great guy, but not for me.”

According to Gizelle, she and Peter met at the BET Awards.

“He introduced himself to me. We started chatting. I think at that time, he might have even still been married to Cynthia at the time. But I love Cynthia, so it’s like, ‘No.’ Peter is an absolute no,’” she stated.

Gizelle then reacted to Ashley’s split from Michael, sharing that she had advance notice.

“She actually called and told me before we started filming. Of course, I never want to see a family break up. I know how that, on the one hand, you want to live your best life, but the next part, you don’t want to see that for the children. I believe in marriage, so I was hurt for her, but I’m here to support her no matter what she decides to do,” Gizelle said. “If she gets back with Michael tomorrow, I’m here to support her.”

Also, during her interview with E! News, Gizelle teased the upcoming third season of RHUGT, which was filmed earlier this year in Thailand with cast members, including Candiace Dillard-Bassett, Whitney RoseHeather GayLeah McSweeneyPorsha Williams, Marysol Patton, and Alexia Echevarria.

“I cannot tell you how much fun it was. I was legitimately like, ‘Thailand? That’s all the way on the other side of the world. Like, why do I have to fly all the way over there?’ So happy it was in Thailand. Thailand is so freaking beautiful, and we really, really had a lot of fun,” Gizelle gushed.

Gizelle was especially excited that Porsha was on the trip.

“That’s my girl. We laughed for eight days straight,” she revealed.

As for who she didn’t get along with, at least at first, Gizelle admitted to experiencing “ups and downs” with the cast members of The Real Housewives of Miami and The Real Housewives of Salt Lake City, who she “didn’t really know” before the trip.

“I’m happy to say that I feel like we’re friends. There were some ups and downs, some rocky roads, especially with [RHOSLC]. And with [RHOM]. I mean, that’s just the nature of trips. You’re gonna have ups and downs, but when we all left, I was actually sad to see us go,” Gizelle shared. “Like, I think about them all the time. We text each other all the time. We really had a bonding experience.”
