The Real Housewives of New York City premiered to rave reviews online last month. But in the weeks since, the live viewership of the series, which wasn’t stellar to begin with, has continued to drop.
As the latest episode of season 14 brought in just over 450,000 live viewers, down over 200,000 from its premiere episode, it has been confirmed that fans will be seeing the upcoming RHONY: Legacy series, which stars Dorinda Medley, Sonja Morgan, Luann de Lesseps, Ramona Singer, Kelly Bensimon, and Kristen Taekman, before the highly-anticipated debut of Real Housewives: Ultimate Girls Trip season four, which features Brandi Glanville and Caroline Manzo.
“WE WON!!!’ the Queens of Bravo announced to their followers on August 2, confirming the RHONY: Legacy cast would be making their debut in December of this year while season four of RHUGT wouldn’t be seen until 2024.
But not everyone agreed that the announcement was a win.
“This is not winning [in my opinion],” one person wrote. “I wanna know what happened between Brandi and Caroline.”
“Did we win? I was SO excited for [RHUGT season four],” a second agreed.
“How is this a win?” asked a third. “I’ve been waiting for Morocco since 2003. Betcha Caroline doesn’t want to air considering every other housewife that went on that trip has been sending Brandi so much love online.”
Others suspected that the season may have been scrapped completely due to a potential lawsuit from Caroline, who Brandi was accused of touching inappropriately during filming.
As for RHONY season 14, the Real Housewives Zone offered an update on the show’s ratings on Instagram on August 2.
“RHONY ???? Ratings continue to slide for the reboot of The Real Housewives of New York,” they wrote, sharing that the first three episodes brought in live viewers as follows.
Episode 1: 672,000
Episode 2: 506,000
Episode 3: 452,000
“Although overnight figures are not a true reflection of total viewers it does show that the reboot is losing viewers each episode so far,” they added.
The outlet also revealed that The Real Housewives of Atlanta, which aired in the 8:00 time slot ahead of RHONY, brought in 808,000 live viewers.
The Real Housewives of New York City season 14 airs Sundays at 9/8c on Bravo.
